The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform
The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act modifies the net worth standard in the definition of “accredited investor” to provide that the value of a person’s primary residence is excluded from the calculation of the $1 million net worth requirement. The SEC is directed to periodically review and modify the definition of “accredited investor,” as appropriate, and the GAO is required to submit a report to Congress on the appropriate criteria for accredited investor status and eligibility to invest in private funds.
